Description:
Apiary first entered the CA Education Programs scene in 1994. Many of CAEP Apiary hosts teach participants the use of bees for pollination of fruit trees. Most placements are with honey production placements and for the sale of queen bees . This program has placements available on mainland USA as well as Hawaii. We are happy to welcome that also make mead (honey wine).

Requirements for the apiary program are as follows:
Five years of practical experience in your specific agriculture interest area to apply as a participant or -
One year of practical experience with a degree or certificate in your related field.
Be between the ages of 18-35.
A valid driver's license to operate a motor vehicle in the U.S.
Basic English skills.
Criminal free record.
Single and in good health.
Ability to pass a drug screening upon request.

You need to complete a CA Education Programs application form and undergo the screening process in your home country through our country partner. If we do not have an active partner in your home country, please contact us directly to assist you.

Skills to be learned may include:
1. Handling of beehives
2. Feeding beehives,
3. Beehive nutrition,
4. Movement of beehives,
5. Learning about location site needs at different times of the year.
6. Operation and maintenance of machinery
7. Observing business management and taught pricing of honey on the market and pollination contracts dealing with fluctuating prices.
