"In fall 2000 I went to America for a one year internship. I worked on a dairy farm in the winter and a big crop farm during summer. Continued: from Front Page "My stay in the US was a great experience. In 2003 I went to France and in 2006 to Canada to do an internships on two farms there, and to learn french. The stays abroad really helped me to develop myh personality and career. I am now working in customer support for John Deere, where I am in contact with people from all over Europe and the United States. I am also the contact for French dealers. This would have never been possible with out my practical experience on the farm, language skills, or the human skills that I acquired while being in those foreign countries."
Valentin Ciubotareanu- CAEP participant News story from Minot Daily News
"I would recommend this placement to another participant because it's a good place to learn about agricultural things, and the people here are friendly and help the trainee/students to learn faster. I am very happy, [my host] is very nice, he teaches us to drive a tractor and other matchines within the farms, and he pays attention to everything that we need, tomorrow afternoon he will take us to a reunion at his house."
"The time I spent out there was during my gap year prior to starting college. The reason I chose this program was to gain a greater understanding of agriculture in the USA and experience daily life in the states. I am now in my penultimate year of the veterinary science course at Liverpool University and I feel that the experiences I gained have been beneficial. As a result of my visit to the USA I had definitely become more confident and outgoing, realized that there are different ways of doing things and most importantly, had a lot of fun."
