Our farm is not a large commercial farm. We have 250 acres of land, 75 registered and grade Holstein milking cows, 200 head of young stock and breeding bulls. For this reason we must be diversified. We also sell breeding animals, embryos and seed stock to other dairy farmers.
We have an embryo transfer program. We have a special Embryo Transfer Veterinarian that does the transfers and is always willing to share his view and technique with students.
One or two animals are flushed monthly. Cows are flushed to the top TPI bulls of the breed. Embryos then are then transferred into grade cows or frozen.
